Job summary

The Town of Whitby seeks a Fire Chief to provide senior leadership, strategic direction, and coordination of Whitby Fire & Emergency Services. You will ensure excellent public education, prevention, suppression and rescue operations while balancing service delivery with taxpayer funding.

The successful candidate will hold a post-secondary diploma/degree in relevant fields, have 12+ years in fire service and 5+ years of senior leadership in a unionized setting, and possess ECFO and CEMC

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Fire Service(s), Business Administration, Public Administration or related field.
• Ontario Fire College completion and required training, including Company Officer Program.
• ECFO and NFPA 1021 are assets.
