Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Science, Public Administration, or closely related field; substitution with increasing leadership responsibility may be allowed.
• Thirteen (13) years of experience in a full-time paid fire department.
• Three (3) years of command experience at District or Battalion Chief level or above in a full-time paid fire department, with areas in fire suppression, rescue, EMS, or emergency planning/exercise.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for the Saint Paul Fire Department, directing strategic/operational leadership for emergency response, prevention, preparedness, workforce, and administration.
• Collaborate with City leadership, labor partners, community members, and regional public safety partners to advance the department's mission and ensure readiness for residents.
