Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Fire Chief for the Ascension Island Auxiliary Airfield under AFCAP support. You will lead the installation's fire protection program, determine resources, and coordinate with DoD requirements to safeguard personnel and assets.

The role demands certification in fire service leadership, EMS credentials, and the ability to operate in a remote, high-demand environment with international travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Fire Officer IV certification required.
• Fire Inspector II certification required.
• Fire Instructor II certification required.
• Hazardous Materials Incident Commander certification required.
• Airport Firefighter certification required.
• NREMR certification required.
• NREMT BASIC or higher required.
• Minimum one year of experience in the duty position.
• Lead or management experience in related field required.
• IFSAC or NPQS accreditation on training certificates required.
• Current CPR card (AHA or Red Cross) required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Secret US Government Clearance.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Establish and implement a Fire and Emergency Services program including mutual aid, EMS, RIT, HAZMAT, and wildland response.
• Prepare and submit an electronic monthly fire status report with the COR.
• Meet service delivery objectives and response times per DoDI 6055.06 and AFI 32-2001.
• Ensure aircraft firefighting, rescue, and ARFF vehicles respond within required times.
• Maintain staffing levels to meet regulatory requirements for structural firefighting and HAZMAT incidents.
• Provide around-the-clock staffing to operate FACC or ECC and dispatch services.
