Job summary

San Bernardino County Fire Protection District is seeking a Captain to serve as a first-line supervisor for a fire company and supervise the work of subordinate fire suppression personnel. Captains respond to fire alarms, medical aids and other emergency calls, and conduct fire prevention and suppression training programs.

The Captain is responsible for the safety and well-being of all personnel and for overall station management.

Qualifications

• Must be currently employed as a San Bernardino County Fire Protection District Engineer in regular status.
• Minimum of four (4) consecutive years of regular, full-time firefighting experience with SB County Fire.
• Captain Qualified Relief Certification must be current; copy attached to application.
• CFO Certification dated 2016 or earlier or completion of Captain's Taskbook by hire.
• EMT or Paramedic licensure must be maintained during employment.
• Valid California Driver License with Firefighter Endorsement.

• Manage overall station/program operations, including documentation and reporting.
