Job description

Position Summary

Inspect, install, and repair commercial door and firestop systems according to UL/FM assembly details and applicable NFPA and IBC/IFC codes. Assist the jobsite foreman with physical project tasks and communicate with customers as needed.

Requirements

• Valid NC driver’s license
• Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills
• Experience in carpentry and drywall installation
• Experience with powered and hand tools
• Experience with powered caulk dispensers and paint sprayers
• Low voltage access control and automatic door system experience (plus)
• Ability to read blueprints and construction documents
• Proficiency with computers and tablets
• Microsoft Word and Excel knowledge (plus)
• Knowledge of general building practices and commercial construction
• Understanding of fire and smoke-rated structures
• Background check and drug screening clearance
• Positive attitude, good attendance, respectful communication
• Proper safety equipment use

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Work in indoor and outdoor environments, in various weather conditions. Physical activity includes standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, bending, crouching, reaching, stooping, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs regularly and 150 lbs occasionally. Accommodations available for disabilities.
