Job summary

Ferrara is seeking an Engineer to design mechanical components and systems for fire apparatus. You will work with Sales and Engineering to meet customer requirements, create manufacturing drawings, and support production with robust, producible designs.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, cross-functional collaboration, and adherence to design rules and interface points. Strong CAD skills and experience with Inventor/AutoCAD are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in CAD systems such as Autodesk Inventor and/or AutoCAD.
• Minimum of 2 years of general design work experience.
• Knowledge of NFPA standards related to fire apparatus is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify mechanical/electrical components for Fire Apparatus.
• Produce drawings for manufacturing components and assemblies.
• Manage nedented BOMs per company standards.
• Support production to meet quality and schedule goals.
• Participate in cross-functional design reviews and customer meetings.
• Manage engineering changes per established processes.
