Job summary

The City of Alexandria, VA is seeking a Fire Maintenance Supervisor to plan, supervise, and optimize the maintenance and repair of all Alexandria Fire Department vehicles. The role includes budget management, supervising skilled Automotive Mechanics, and coordinating with divisions across the fire department.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of automotive maintenance and repair.
• Experience supervising maintenance and repair of emergency vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise maintenance and repair of all Fire Department vehicles.
• Supervise mechanics, schedule work, and monitor quality and productivity.
• Establish vendor contracts and authorize repairs as needed.
• Maintain inventory and records of repairs, parts and fueling operations.
• Prepare reports and manage the Fire Maintenance Shop budget.
