Job summary

The City of Loma Linda is seeking a Fire Engineer to operate and maintain fire apparatus, assist in suppression, EMS, and public safety activities under supervision.

The role includes fire prevention inspections, training support, records keeping, and potential leadership duties when needed. Eligibility includes CA certification requirements and the ability to pass a medical exam and drug screen.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent with 12 fire science units.
• Two years of fire service experience.
• California Driver Operator certification or ability to obtain.
• Valid California FF Endorsement driver's license.
• Pass a medical exam including drug screen and eligibility for PERS.
• US citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Drive, operate and maintain fire department apparatus.
• Operate tools and equipment; assist in suppression and EMS.
• Participate in training, public education, and inspections.
• Prepare records of operations and incident reports.
• May supervise subordinate members or act as shift captain.
• Respond to calls including off duty.
• Assist in pre-fire planning and hydrant testing.
