Job summary

The Orange County Fire Authority seeks an experienced Fire Apparatus Engineer Academy Coordinator for a 24-week administrative assignment in OCFA's Operations Training and Promotions Division. This role runs 4/10 schedule (Mon-Thu) and carries eligibility for Staff Assignment Pay and Staff Incentive Pay.

Candidates must be current OCFA Fire Captains and former FAEs, with Instructor certificates preferred, strong MS Office skills, and excellent written and verbal communication.

Qualifications

• Current OCFA Fire Captain.
• Former Fire Apparatus Engineer.
• Instructor 1A and 1B or Instructor 1 or equivalent.
• Prior experience as FAE Academy Coordinator or Assistant FAE Academy Coordinator.
• Computer skills with Microsoft Office.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
• Strong written communications skills.
• No long-term vacations during the academy.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate FAE Academy 44 and 45; oversee selection and scheduling.
• Admin assignment 24 weeks with a 4/10 Mon-Thu schedule.
• Take over the FAE Development lead for one year.
• Submit a memo of interest and a brief resumé (one-page maximum).
• Contact Battalion Chief Levi Medina for questions as needed.
