Job summary

Fire Equipment Inc. is seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Technician in Smithfield, RI. This field-based role supports on-site service, inspection, and repair of fire alarm systems for a dedicated customer base.

The candidate should have 2+ years' experience, RI fire alarm licensing, and strong troubleshooting abilities. In addition to competitive hourly pay, FEI offers 401(k), comprehensive medical/dental/vision coverage, and on-call support as part of a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• RI Fire Alarm Lic required; MA Electrician License preferred.
• 2+ years of experience servicing, inspecting, or installing fire alarms.
• Knowledge of NFPA fire codes and local regulations.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills, able to work independently.
• Valid Driver’s License required and OSHA 10 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site service, inspection, and repair of fire alarm systems.
• Test systems for compliance with codes and standards.
• Diagnose faults and perform repairs; document results accurately.
• Configure fire alarm panels and devices; complete service reports.
• Provide excellent customer service and support after hours when needed.
