Job summary

State Systems, Inc. is seeking a dependable Fire Alarm Technician to install, program, and service commercial fire alarm and low voltage systems in Memphis, TN. You will perform inspections, tests, and maintenance in accordance with NFPA 72 and AHJ requirements, contributing to safety and reliability.

The role requires at least 1 year of relevant experience, a clean driving record, and the ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams. A valid Arkansas LV license is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in fire alarm or low voltage systems.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong understanding of NFPA 72 and related codes preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders (12–24 ft).
• Arkansas Low Voltage License (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Install, program, and service fire alarm and low voltage systems.
• Perform inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance on fire alarm systems.
• Complete fire alarm installation and service projects per NFPA 72 and company standards.
• Test and inspect detectors, detectors, and pull stations.
• Troubleshoot electrical and low voltage issues with diagnostic equipment.
• Communicate job status and deficiencies to supervisors and customers.
• Use company software to complete reports and logs.
• Collaborate with team to support improvements.
• Ensure all work complies with electrical and fire safety codes.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle.
