Job summary

Convergint is hiring a full-time Fire Alarm Technician to install, program, start-up and test fire alarm systems on assigned projects. The role includes customer training and documentation, with opportunities to grow within a collaborative culture.

You should bring a customer-focused mindset, strong electronics knowledge, a valid driver's license, NICET Level II in Fire Alarm Systems or willingness to pursue, and the ability to travel locally to sites.

Qualifications

• Customer service orientation and ability to work under pressure.
• Willing to learn fire alarm/electronic security systems and related certifications.
• Self-starter with minimal supervision.
• Strong electronics understanding including Ohm's law and relay logic.
• Experience with Edwards or equivalent fire alarm systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, start-up/check-out, test and Commission fire alarm systems.
• Provide customer training and complete documentation for each project.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics and wiring diagrams for installation.
• Coordinate with Project Manager and Engineering to resolve issues.
• Mentor less experienced colleagues and ensure quality of work.
• Travel locally to job sites on a regular basis.
