Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician 1 to provide on-site service, troubleshooting, programming, installation, and maintenance of fire alarm systems under supervision.

The role requires knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, and industry standards; candidates should have HS Diploma with 4 years' experience or tech degree with 2 years; ability to lift 50 lbs and work at heights; must pass background and drug tests. We offer comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED with 4 years of relevant experience or tech degree with 2 years experience.
• Willing to work overtime and on MC Dean projects nationwide.
• Pass background check and random drug screening.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, Fire Alarm System Theory, OSHA requirements and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Test and inspect fire alarm systems per NFPA/local codes; identify deficiencies.
• Functionally test initiating devices, notification appliances, and peripherals.
• Communicate system performance and deficiencies for accurate quoting.
• Prepare inspection/service reports.
• Assist in mid-size FA system upgrades and installations under supervision.
• Assist in pre-testing and final inspections for projects.
• Determine materials needed and order them.
• Maintain relationships with building owners and managers.
• Respond to service requests and diagnose malfunctions to ensure compliance.
• Install low voltage systems under supervision.
• Read blueprints/drawings and maintain truck inventory.
• Be on call for after-hours service as scheduled.
• Pursue NICET certifications and grow technical skills with support.
