Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results-driven, and forward-thinking Fire Alarm Technician to join our culture. In this role, you will install, program, perform system start-up/check-out, testing/commissioning, customer training, and all associated documentation on assigned projects, including more complex projects. What you'll do with "Our Training and Your Experience"
- Participate in our Recruit Awesome People program to help grow Convergint by promoting our colleague-first culture and referring top talent.
- Install, program, test, repair, and service systems such as security, fire alarm & life safety, and building automation, providing technical support and training to customers.
- Utilize blueprints, schematics, manuals, and specifications to determine installation procedures, seeking assistance for complex issues.
- Interpret manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and repair equipment using electronics knowledge and test instruments.
- Understand building, mechanical, sprinkler, and fire systems.
- Mentor less experienced colleagues.
- Operate systems to demonstrate equipment, commission new systems, analyze performance, and identify malfunctions.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and act as the company's representative for service quality.
- Consult with engineering to resolve system issues and advise management on customer satisfaction and product performance.
- Manage technical aspects of projects, including programming, start-up, certification, training, documentation, and support.
- Identify project risks and assist in developing mitigation strategies.
- Work with Fire Alarm Designer to ensure compliance with codes and standards.
- Coordinate with Project and Operations Managers to ensure project quality and scope management.
- Perform other duties as required.
What You'll Need
- Strong customer focus, ability to work under pressure, and proactive in meeting customer needs.
- Ability to explain complex topics to non-technical audiences.
- Willingness to learn technical skills related to fire alarm systems and electronic security.
- Self-starter with minimal supervision.
- Understanding of electronics, including Ohm's law, resistor color codes, and relay logic.
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude, experience with tools.
- Experience programming and troubleshooting Edwards or similar fire alarm systems.
- Commitment to obtaining necessary certifications/licensing.
- Willingness to mentor others.
- Valid driver's license with a clean record.
- NICET Level II in Fire Alarm.
- Low voltage electrical license as required.
- Ability to travel locally, with minimal overnight travel.

Requirements:
- High School/GED or equivalent
- Local/State Electrical License
- NICET Level III
- 3-5 years relevant field experience
- EST3 Certification
