Job summary

Confires Fire Protection Service is seeking an enthusiastic Fire Alarm Apprentice to join our Linwood, NJ team. You will receive hands-on training to become a licensed Fire Alarm Technician as you learn about inspections, testing, installation, and maintenance across alarm systems.

We value hard workers who are eager to learn, with opportunities for advancement as you gain certification and experience in a growing trade within the fire protection industry.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license with 3 or fewer points.
• Three years driving experience.
• Knowledge of hand tools such as pipe wrenches, channel locks, and drills.
• Able to work nights and weekends for occasional emergency services.
• Willing to learn and study fire sprinkler systems to pass tests and become certified.
• Must take initiative, pursue opportunities, and tackle goals.
• Excellent attendance and ability to handle responsibility.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must communicate well with customers and explain work and repairs.
• Must write clearly and be detailed in service write-ups.
• Must be organized and keep track of service tickets and documents.

Responsibilities

• Learn to become a licensed, certified Fire Alarm Technician.
• Support inspections, testing, installation, and maintenance of fire alarm systems.
• Prepare accurate, detailed service reports and tickets.
• Be available for occasional emergency services as needed.

About the Opportunity

Confires Fire Protection Service is currently hiring trainees for the Fire Alarm division, based out of our Linwood, NJ office location. This is a great opportunity to learn a growing and in demand trade. We will train you to become a licensed, certified Fire Alarm Technician.

We are looking for hard working and hands‑on individuals that want to learn a new trade in the fire protection industry. The fire protection industry is in high demand and it can be a long term career that with training, certification and years of quality hard work.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license with 3 or less points
• Must have three years driving experience
• Must be knowledgeable of hand tools such as pipe wrenches, channel locks, drills, etc
• Must be able to work nights and weekends for occasional emergency services.
• Must be willing to learn and study about the different fire sprinkler systems in order to pass tests and become certified.
• Must take initiative, pursue opportunities, and tackle goals.
• Must have an excellent attendance and can handle responsibility.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be able to communicate well with customers and explain the work being done and any repairs that are necessary.
• Must be able to write well and be very detailed in your write up on service work.
• Must be well organized and be able to keep track of service tickets and process all required documents for each service performed.

Compensation

• Hourly pay; dependent on employment/educational background and experience.
• Quarterly bonuses
• All hours worked between 6 pm and 5 am, paid at the time and half rate for every day of the week.
