Overview

Fire Alarm Service Technician 2 is responsible for conducting in-depth inspections, advanced troubleshooting, and comprehensive repairs of fire alarm systems.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  1. Conduct detailed inspections and thorough testing of fire alarm systems per NFPA 72, identifying and resolving complex issues.
  2. Utilize advanced troubleshooting techniques to diagnose and repair intricate problems in fire alarm systems, including VESDA systems and interconnected components such as elevators, HVAC shutdown, fire doors, and smoke control.
  3. Maintain accurate documentation of service activities, including diagnostics, repairs, and system upgrades, completing testing reports in a timely manner.
  4. Provide technical support to junior technicians, collaborating with team members to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  5. Respond promptly to service calls, emergencies, and system failures, restoring system functionality while upholding safety protocols and company policies.
  6. Assist in the installation, maintenance, and upgrade of various fire alarm systems, including Notifier, Siemens, Edwards, Gamewell, Honeywell, Firelite, etc.
  7. Perform complete site surveys for potential preventive maintenance inspections and fire alarm system changes/modifications, preparing labor estimates and material requirements.
  8. Stay updated on industry advancements, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and optimize system performance, while pursuing and maintaining industry certifications.

Minimum Qualifications
  1. Minimum of high school degree and five years of related experience or two years technology degree and three years of related experience.
  2. NICET Fire Alarm Systems Level II or pass NICET II exam within 90 days of employment.
  3. Ability to obtain US Clearance, minimum DoD Secret Clearance.
  4. Position is subject to an additional customer background check.
  5. This position will require up to 15% travel throughout the United States.
  6. Above average level of attention to detail and professional work ethic.
  7. Knowledge of NFPA 72 and OSHA Requirements.
  8. Ability to function in a controlled, effective manner under stress.
  9. Strong desire to continuously increase your skill set and take on more responsibility.
  10. Above average communication skills with customers, other field personnel, office staff and sub-contractors.
  11. Physical Requirements include lifting at least 100 pounds at one time, working at various heights up to 60 feet, and performing physical activities such as walking, climbing, lifting, etc.
  12. Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening, have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  13. Must report to work on time, work well with others, and maintain a safe work environment.

  • Competitive salary range: $33.00 - $39.00 per hour.
