Job summary

Job description

Dynalectric DC is looking for a Fire Alarm Technician to install and update fire alarm systems in commercial and residential buildings. You will perform inspections, test alarms, troubleshoot, and document issues. You will also respond to emergency service calls and ensure the systems are functioning properly.

Fire Alarm Technician Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Install or upgrade fire alarms in commercial and residential buildings
  2. Test and repair alarm systems already in place
  3. Perform inspections to ensure alarms are installed according to code
  4. Complete detailed inspection reports, documenting any issues
  5. Respond to emergency service calls
  6. Maintain a clean and safe workspace

Fire Alarm Technician Requirements and Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or GED certificate
  2. NICET certification preferred (requires prior experience or training)
  3. Knowledge of NFPA standards, including NFPA 70 and 72, is a plus
  4. Experience with commercial and residential systems
  5. Ability to work on ladders and lift up to 50 lbs.
  6. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Work Environment: The employee is frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. Occasionally, there are extreme conditions at construction sites. The noise level can be loud. Work may be performed indoors and outdoors, including adverse weather conditions.

Physical Demands: The employee must occasionally sit, climb, or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequently lift/move up to 10 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs. Vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
