Job summary

DGA Security Systems is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician to join our growing team in New York. You will install, configure, and troubleshoot fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA 72, NYC Fire Code, and local jurisdictional requirements, ensuring proper functionality and code compliance.

Responsibilities include installing, testing, and diagnosing Fire Alarm Systems and devices; completing inspection reports; communicating with customers; and adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of relevant electrical/fire alarm experience.
  • Familiarity with ARCS a plus.
  • NICET certification preferred; willingness to obtain.
  • Read blueprints and interpret electrical schematics.
  • SST 40-hour NYC Site Safety Training.
  • S-98 Certificate of Fitness.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

DGA Security Systems is currently seeking a Fire Alarm Technician to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to build a long-term career with a well-established, industry-leading company.


As a technician, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and troubleshooting fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA 72, NYC Fire Code, and local jurisdictional requirements. Your work will involve setting up and diagnosing issues with fire alarm control panels, batteries, Data Gathering Panels (DGPs), notification appliances, initiating devices, and remote annunciators to ensure proper functionality and code compliance.


Role Responsibilities

Requirements


  • High School Diploma or equivalent; trade school certification preferred.

  • 3-5 years of relevant electrical/fire alarm experience.

  • Experience with Auxiliary Radio Communication Systems (ARCS) a plus

  • Familiarity with Edwards (EST) products a plus.

  • Understanding of basic electronics and electrical principles (Ohm's Law, AC/DC).

  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret electrical schematics.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

  • SST 40-hour NYC Site Safety Training.

  • S-98 Certificate of Fitness.

  • NICET Level I or II certification preferred; willingness to obtain if not already held.
