Job description

Allstates Consulting Services is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician in Indianapolis, IN, to work with our partner. Candidates must possess a valid State Fire Alarm License. The pay rate ranges from $5.00 to $40.00 per hour. The position involves extensive travel; travel time is paid, and overnight stays are covered with a room booked for you. Additionally, you will receive a $45.00 per diem per day for meals. You need to provide your own transportation, but mileage will be reimbursed.

Requirements:

• Experience as a Fire Alarm Installation Technician
• Willingness to travel extensively (3-4 weeks away from home at a time within a 4-hour radius)
• Flexibility to work on-call, day, or night shifts as needed
• Ability to read blueprints and site maps
• Knowledge of fire alarm panels is required; experience with CCTV, voice, and data cabling is also required
• Understanding of color codes and ability to work in confined spaces
• Ability to operate lifts and work at heights
• Own basic telecommunication tools, PPE, and reliable transportation
• Knowledge of cabling infrastructure
• Proficiency with smartphones, email, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office
• Conduit installation experience is a plus
• Valid driver's license with a clean record (no DUI/DWI in last 3 years)

Responsibilities:

• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain fire alarm systems infrastructure
• Run low voltage cabling, including drilling and conduit work in commercial buildings
• Ensure cables are neatly tied and bundled according to safety standards
• Install cable support structures like j-hooks and cable racks
• Test new cable systems and devices for proper operation
• Troubleshoot network issues
• Follow all safety requirements set by Wachter, clients, or OSHA
• Perform additional duties as assigned by your supervisor
