Job summary

Alarm Detection Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Service Technician to install, inspect, test, troubleshoot, and service commercial fire alarm systems.

You will work directly with customers, contractors, and AHJs to ensure life safety and code compliance. You should have strong troubleshooting skills, a commitment to quality workmanship, and the ability to learn continuously in a fast-paced field environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of commercial fire alarm installation, inspection, testing, and service experience.
• NICET Level II Certification required.
• CSA Denver License required.
• Working knowledge of NFPA 72 and applicable codes.
• Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and engineered drawings.
• Experience programming and troubleshooting fire alarm systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, test, service, and repair commercial fire alarm and life safety systems per NFPA standards.
• Program, configure, diagnose, and troubleshoot fire alarm systems.
• Read blueprints and technical drawings; coordinate inspections with AHJs.
• Maintain and organize tools, vehicles, and inventory for field work.
• Train customers on operation of fire alarm systems and safety procedures.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergency service.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Install, inspect, test, service, and repair commercial fire alarm and life safety systems in accordance with NFPA standards and applicable codes.
• Program, configure, diagnose, and troubleshoot a variety of commercial fire alarm systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, engineered drawings, and technical documentation.
• Install conduit and perform installations with quality workmanship and attention to detail.
• Identify code deficiencies, system impairments, and recommend corrective actions.
• Perform system pre-testing and coordinate rough and final inspections with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
• Complete service calls while providing exceptional customer service and communication.
• Prepare inspection reports, work orders, records of completion, and other required documentation.
• Train customers on the operation of fire alarm and related life safety systems.
• Maintain manufacturer certifications and participate in ongoing technical training.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support after-hours emergency service.
• Maintain a clean, organized company vehicle, tools, and inventory.
• Partner with customers, contractors, inspectors, and coworkers to deliver reliable life safety solutions.

Background & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Compensation

Pay Range: $35.00–$44.00 per hour. Starting pay is based on experience, certifications, licenses, technical expertise, and overall qualifications.
