Qualifications

The Fire Alarm Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, and servicing of fire alarm systems, ensuring compliance with all local fire codes and regulations. As a Technician, you will oversee and ensure that fire alarm systems are properly installed and maintained in both commercial and residential settings. This role requires strong technical expertise and a deep understanding of fire alarm technologies and safety standards.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Install and maintain fire alarm systems in commercial and residential buildings, ensuring proper system setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  2. Be the primary point of contact for all fire alarm and low volt functions.
  3. Coordinate with project management team on daily schedules and project timelines.
  4. Communicate effectively with all subcontractors, vendors, laborers, and other jobsite staff.
  5. Ensure proper safety is being adhered to on site according to company safety standards.
  6. Attend daily morning meetings.
  7. Handle all daily logs and other necessary job site documentation.
  8. Communicate with engineers, owners, project management staff, and other stakeholders.
  9. Complete jobsite walks with appropriate parties.
  10. Ensure installation is running smoothly and following project schedules.
  11. Conduct regular testing and inspections of fire alarm systems, ensuring that they are functioning correctly and in compliance with local fire safety regulations.
  12. Identify issues or problem areas before they arise.
  13. Diagnose and resolve issues with fire alarm systems, including wiring, sensors, control panels, and alarm devices.
  14. Ensure all fire alarm installations and repairs meet local and national fire safety codes (e.g. NFPA, UL, etc.). Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and installations.
  15. Provide on-call support as needed for emergency repairs or system failures.
Minimum Requirements:

Salary:

Min: USD $24.00/Hr.

Max: USD $28.00/Hr.

Minimum Education: High School

Minimum Years of Experience: 2-4

Specific Qualifications:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  2. 2-year or 4-year degree in construction management or similar field is preferred but not required.
  3. Minimum 2 years of experience in fire alarm installation, service, and maintenance.
  4. State of Ohio Certification.
  5. Additional fire safety certifications (e.g. NICET) a plus.
  6. Valid driver's license.
  7. OSHA 10 Hour, First Aid CPR certifications a plus.
  8. In-depth knowledge of fire alarm systems, electrical systems, and local fire safety codes.
  9. Proficient in troubleshooting, wiring, and working with fire alarm control panels and peripheral devices.
  10. Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
  11. Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations effectively.
