What You'll Do
- Diagnose and resolve issues with fire alarm systems, ensuring their smooth operation.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance to identify and address potential problems before they escalate.
- Complete small project installations, including upgrading or replacing fire alarm equipment to maintain optimal system performance.
- Analyze work orders, plan your daily schedule, and effectively communicate with customers to understand their concerns.
- Conduct tests, troubleshoot fire alarm system issues, and determine the best solutions to resolve them efficiently.
- Accurately track your work by updating service tickets with billable time and materials.
To Be Successful, You'll Need
- 5+ years of experience in fire life safety troubleshooting, service, and support.
- Possess a valid EST-3 certification (or be able to obtain it within one year).
- Minimum education requirement of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid California Driver License (or ability to obtain one) and proof of auto insurance.
- Must be able to work weekends, nights, split shifts, and rotating shifts (if needed).
- Must be able to get required vaccinations/immunizations.
Work Environment
- Be prepared for a variety of work locations, including construction sites, commercial buildings, high-rise/mid-rise buildings, and medical facilities.
- The role may require occasional work at heights, in extreme temperatures, and in confined spaces.
- This role involves physical activity such as driving for extended periods, walking, bending, lifting equipment (occasionally up to 20 lbs), and prolonged standing or sitting.
