Job summary

Captivate, LLC in Altoona, PA is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician to install, wire, and test fire alarm systems, read blueprints, and coordinate with the local fire department. This is a full-time, on-site role requiring hands-on field work and near-daily ladder use.

The ideal candidate will have construction-site experience, be technically inclined, and capable of troubleshooting complex systems with attention to codes and safety standards. On-call rotation may be required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years field experience on construction sites.
• Ability to climb ladders and pull cabling.
• Experience reading blueprints and technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Install and wire fire alarm systems – panels, detectors, pull stations, and notification devices.
• Test and inspect systems for code compliance.
• Read and interpret blueprints and floor plans.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of devices and system malfunctions.
• Coordinate with local fire department to avoid unnecessary responses during testing.
• Recommend upgrades/repairs when necessary.
• Respond to and resolve tickets via phone and email; train clients on system use.

Reporting To: Mark, Operations Manager

Compensation: $30.00 - $35.00 / hour

Description

Join our team and help keep your community safe! We're looking for experienced, dependable candidates to fill the role of Fire Alarm Technician- helping protect the homes and businesses in your community.

You Are:

• A trustworthy individual. Hungry to learn and grow. Hands-on and love being in the field as opposed to being behind a desk. Technically inclined and always curious how things work.

You Have:

• Experience on construction sites. Ability to climb ladders, pull cabling, use power tools & hand tools. A steady work history (3yrs between hops), a pleasant disposition, High EQ.

Your Location:

• In-Person (Not Remote or Hybrid)
• 500 8th Ave, Altoona, PA 16602

Your Schedule:

• Full Time (40hrs/Wk)
• Monday to Friday (8:00am-4:30pm)
• Availability for after hours on call rotation, as assigned

Your Manager:

• Mark, Operations Manager

Your Contribution to Park Security Systems:

• Install and wire fire alarm systems - panels, detectors, pull stations, and notification devices

Your Ideal Background/Experience:

• Knowledge of Fire Alarm Systems, Codes, & Standards
• Certification as a Fire Alarm Inspector (NICET or equivalent preferred)
