Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Systems Technician in Florida with programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting capabilities. You will work with our sales, field teams, and clients to ensure sound design and seamless installation and commissioning of fire alarm solutions.

You will review layouts, program systems, generate field surveys and logs, and ensure AHJ acceptance while meeting schedules and budgets. Travel may be required occasionally.

Qualifications

• Two to five years of technician experience in fire detection and protection.
• Knowledge of current fire alarm systems and NFPA 72 requirements.
• Ability to program and commission mid-range fire alarm systems using a laptop.

Responsibilities

• Review system layouts and coordinate with engineering, project management, and sales for successful execution.
• Produce field surveys and daily project logs of activity.
• Program, commission, and obtain final acceptance by customers and AHJs.
• Produce commissioning and inspection reports per NFPA.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and resolve them effectively.
• Manage project scheduling and stay within cost budgets.

THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELL

SciensBuilding Solutionsis seeking anexperiencedFire Alarm SystemsTechnicianwithprogramming, commissioning, and troubleshooting capabilitiesand experience. This position will work closely with our sales team,field project teams,and clients to ensure a sound design,and seamless installation and commissioning of our firealarmsolutions. Thisis a key position for our growing teamandrequires attention to detail in all aspects ofexecuting projects. Customer andemployee interfacerequirea high degree of effective human relations. Communication skills, both verbal and written are wichtigstelementsof the position.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (and doing well!)

• Responsible for reviewing system layouts and coordinating with engineering, project management, and sales departments for a successful project execution.

• Produce field surveys and daily project logs of activity.

• Responsible for programming, commissioning and final acceptance by customers and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) of complex firealarmsystems.

• Produce detailed commissioning and inspection reports in accordance with NFPA.

• Responsible for complex troubleshooting and effective resolution.

• Responsible for delivering projects on schedule and within cost budgets.

• Responsible for programming systems via laptop computers.

• Oversight for project inventoryand responsible for vehicle inventory.

• Ability to work under tight deadlines.

• Provide support, guidance, and expertise to the other technicians.

• Customer-focused, skilled in project and people management.

• Ability to manage job scheduling and job progress in an efficient and cost-effective manner, with a strong focus on quality.

• Proficient in issue resolution.

• Excellent organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.

• Knowledge offire industry.

• Ability to travel occasionally overnight as needed.

WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT YOU

• Knowledgeable in NFPA 72 code requirements.

• Knowledge of Florida fire procedures, filing, and requirements.

• Ability to read fire system design drawings,

• NICET level I.
