Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC is seeking a Fire Alarm Support Technician to assist licensed technicians with inspections and testing of fire alarm systems. You will document results and help prepare tools and materials for each inspection, whileTravel to job sites as required and ensure compliance with NFPA standards.

Qualifications

Build your career with the industry-leading fire, life safety and security company.The Fire Alarm Support Technician supports licensed and experienced technicians in the inspection, testing, and documentation of fire alarm systems, specifically within Test & Inspect operations. This role works under direct supervision of a technician(s).Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Assist technicians with scheduled inspections and testing of fire alarm systems.Support testing activities such as device activation, alarm verification, and system checks under supervision.Help document inspection and testing results in accordance with company and regulatory standards.Identify and report visible deficiencies or irregularities to supervising technicians.Assist with preparation of tools, materials, and documentation required for inspections.Maintain accurate records and ensure proper handling of inspection forms and reports.Follow all safety procedures, NFPA guidelines, and company policies.Maintain a clean and organized work environment on job sites.Participate in on-the-job training to learn fire alarm codes, standards, and testing procedures.Travel to job sites as required.Other duties as assigned by management.Education/Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.No prior fire alarm or industry experience is required.Strong willingness to learn inspection and testing procedures in the fire protection industry.Ability to follow detailed instructions and work under direct supervision.Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and safety.Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license (if driving role).Other Duties:Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.Performs other duties as assigned by management.Physical Requirements:Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods.Comfortable working in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.Willingness to travel to various job sites as needed.Work is performed in occupied commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and construction sites.Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.Use of basic hand tools and testing equipment under supervision.Ability to lift 50+ pounds.Pay:$27/hr - $37/hr (Depending on Experience)Benefits and Perks:Excellent payMedical, dental, visionCompany paid life insuranceCompany paid short-term disability401K with employer matchPaid vacation and company holidaysTraining and Career DevelopmentCompany vehicle (if job applicable)Immediate qualification for the ALL In Ownership Plan for all eligible full-time employeesPye-Barker Fire & Safety is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
