Job summary

Johnson Controls in Lenexa, KS seeks a Fire Alarm Service Supervisor to lead daily service operations, coordinate technicians, and ensure safe, timely, high-quality work across customer sites.

You will manage schedules, respond to customer needs, and drive quality, safety, and customer satisfaction within the department. On-site work and travel to service locations are involved.

Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory or field operations experience, preferably in fire alarm or life-safety service.
  • Experience coordinating employees, schedules, and customer service activities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily fire alarm service operations, including scheduling, dispatching, workload assignments, and resource coordination.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, direction, and support to service technicians to build productivity, accountability, teamwork, and professional growth.
  • Monitor daily service activity to help ensure work is completed on time and customer commitments are met.
  • Coordinate with customers, technicians, management, purchasing, warehouse, and internal departments to support timely service delivery and clear communication.
  • Manage escalated customer concerns, service issues, and scheduling challenges in a professional and timely manner.
  • Review work orders, service reports, completion records, and related documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company procedures.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring employees follow company policies, PPE requirements, and safe work practices at all times.
  • Identify unsafe conditions, job-site hazards, and safety concerns, and escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Support compliance with applicable fire alarm codes, regulations, fire codes, NFPA standards, OSHA requirements, and customer-specific site requirements.
  • Track service performance, productivity, callbacks, customer satisfaction, and other key operational indicators.
  • Investigate customer complaints, service delays, safety incidents, and recurring issues, and help implement corrective actions.
  • Assist with onboarding, training, performance evaluations, disciplinary matters, and ongoing employee development.
  • Support staffing, manpower planning, vacation scheduling, overtime management, and daily resource allocation.
  • Coordinate materials, tools, equipment, and department resources so technicians can complete assigned work effectively.
  • Support departmental reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and operational planning as needed.
  • Maintain professional relationships with employees, customers, contractors, and other business partners while reinforcing company standards for communication, appearance, documentation, and service.

Fire Alarm Service Supervisor

In this role, you will lead the daily fire alarm service function, coordinate technicians and resources, and help ensure every job is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Role Overview

The Fire Alarm Service Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day service operations for the fire alarm team. HIRING SALARY RANGE

$76,000 - $104,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This role offers a competitive Bonus plan that will take into account individual, group, and corporate performance. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
