Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an on-site Service Technician to diagnose and repair electronic fire alarm systems and related building equipment at customer sites. You will ensure the highest level of service, address building inefficiencies, and provide timely solutions.

The role involves assessing manufacturer specifications, staying compliant with codes, upselling products, and delivering quotes. A valid driver’s license and strong customer service are required.

Qualifications

• Completion of High School diploma or equivalency.
• Mechanical or electronic experience.
• A valid motor vehicle license is required.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to transport equipment and tools weighing up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to work in restricted areas and adept at maneuvering ladders.
• Ability to demonstrate a high level of customer service.
• Effective communication skills with both internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls from Service Resource Center, diagnose equipment/system problems and contact customer representative.
• Perform service and repairs on electronic fire alarm systems and related building system products at customer sites.
• Provide customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies.
• Make recommendations based on manufacturer specifications and codes; upsell products and services.
• Quote, sell, and repair on-site; meet or exceed quotas set by supervisor.
• Call on potential customers to offer suppression products and services.
• Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.

What you will do

Receive service calls from Service Resource Center, including a brief description of equipment/system malfunctions. Responsible to contact customer representative and ascertain equipment/systems problems. Diagnose problems and perform service and repairs on electronic fire alarm systems and other related building system products at customer sites. Provide our customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service related items. As a trusted advisor to our customers you will provide solutions and outcomes at the time of service.

How you will do it

• Make recommendations based on manufacturer's specification and state/local codes.
• Identify deficiencies. Quote, sell, and repair on-site.
• Up-sell existing customers to new product offerings and services to meet compliance with current fire code regulations.
• Sell new accounts on the route based on the same compliance criteria.
• Meet or exceed quotas set forth by the direct supervisor.
• Call on potential customers to offer suppression products and services.
• Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently to include upselling opportunities
• Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.

What we look for

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $18.26-25.00 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
