Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm and Security Service Technician to perform independent maintenance and service across commercial, industrial, and construction environments. You will diagnose issues, execute corrective actions, and complete service calls with minimal supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma, 3+ years in the field, and strong knowledge of fire alarm systems and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as a technician.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, components, and troubleshooting methods.
• Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks.
• If Driving Role: Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and service of fire alarm and security systems independently.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues and implement corrective actions.
• Complete standard service calls without direct supervision.
• Interpret system drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to perform required tasks.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and company policies.
• Accurately complete service reports, documentation, and inspection records.
• Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and supervisors.
• Identify potential system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Provide guidance and support to entry-level technicians as needed.
