Job summary

Convergint is seeking a full-time Fire Alarm Technician in Tulsa, OK to install, program, startup, certify, and train customers on fire alarm systems. You will test, inspect, and service a range of commercial systems while maintaining thorough documentation and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure.
  • Willing to learn technical skills related to fire alarm systems and/or electronic security systems.
  • To be a self-starter and work well with direct supervision.
  • Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude with hand and power tools.
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel locally to jobsites; minimal overnight travel may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Test, inspect, and service commercial fire-alarm systems within assigned buildings.
  • Ensure required testing equipment and materials are on site for effective and safe testing and inspection process.
  • Identify and report problems or discrepancies found in the systems you inspect.
  • Complete required documentation including deficiency repair recommendations.
  • Provide instruction to customer personnel regarding proper system operation and routine inspections.
  • Interact with building owner or building engineer prior to, during, and following completion of the testing process.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with all inspections and testing.
  • Review reports and initiate next steps as necessary.
  • Follow all local, corporate, and OSHA safety procedures and policies.
  • Complete assigned training and certification within time frames required for the position.
  • Main train or assist less experienced colleagues on the job.

Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Fire Alarm Technician to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will install, program, system start-up/check-out, certify, and customer train on assigned projects including small or less complex projects. What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience”

  • Test, inspect, and service commercial fire-alarm systems within assigned buildings.

  • Follow and maintain highly structured inspection schedules.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all tests performed.
  • Complete service ticket documentation before leaving customer site.
  • Provide instruction to customer personnel regarding proper system operation and routine inspections.
  • Interact with building owner or building engineer prior to, during, and following completion of the testing process.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with all inspections and testing.
  • Review reports and initiate next steps as necessary.
  • Follow all local, corporate, and OSHA safety procedures and policies.
  • Complete assigned training and certification within time frames required for the position.
  • Main train or assist less experienced colleagues on the job.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

What You’ll Need

  • Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.
  • Willing to learn technical skills and/or experience related to fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems.
  • To be a self-starter and work well with direct supervision.
  • Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper).
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis. Minimal overnight travel may be required.
