Job summary

Fire Fighter Sales & Service Co. is seeking an entry-level Installation Apprentice to assist a Lead Technician with installing, testing, and inspecting fire alarm, low voltage, and security systems.

You will gain hands-on experience across disciplines, including CCTV, access control, and voice/data cabling, while adhering to NEC/NFPA requirements. You will work offsite at customer locations, with potential for overtime and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school degree is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of wiring and/or electrical construction.
• Experience using electronic test equipment and troubleshooting tools.
• Basic understanding of blueprints and wiring schematics.
• Proficient with hand and power tools commonly used in electrical and low voltage work.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks.
• Demonstrates strong teamwork and a collaborative mindset.
• Prior customer service experience is a plus.
• Ability to work overtime and adjust to varying schedules as required.
• Comfortable adapting to change with little advance notice.
• Must have a clean driving record and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Installation, testing, inspection, and maintenance of fire alarm systems.
• Support work on fire suppression systems.
• Installation and maintenance of security systems.
• Setup and configuration of CCTV systems.
• Integration of kitchen appliance shutdown devices with fire safety systems.
• Installation and support for access control systems.
• Running and terminating voice/data cabling.
• Review project scope, drawings, and tasks with the lead technician prior to starting work.
