Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions in Texas is seeking a Fire Alarm/Low Voltage Helper to join our growing team. The helper will assist with routine installation and checkout on a variety of systems, using codes, company procedures, engineering drawings, and personnel analysis to develop a positive interface with customers.

This role offers hands-on training, opportunities to learn the fire-life safety trade, and exposure to fire alarm, voice/data, and security systems.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Interested in learning and growing in the fire-life safety industry.
  • Good organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work overtime and out of town, if needed.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to work independently with some supervision.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and able to obtain OSHA 10.
  • Physically fit to perform the demanding work of the trade, including lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds, and climb ladders.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally overnight, as needed.
  • Learn and safely use standard trade tools.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes electrical tools and meters.
  • Aids with conduit & wire installation.
  • Assist with device installation (i.e., fire alarm/security devices).
  • Assist with installation of fire alarm, voice/data, and security systems.

THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELL

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking a Fire Alarm/Low Voltage Helper to join our growing team of professionals. The helper will assist with routine installation and checkout on a variety of systems utilizing codes, company procedures, engineering drawings, and personnel analysis. Develops a positive interface with the customer to ensure confidence and satisfaction with the system installation.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (and doing well!)
  • Utilizes electrical tools and meters.
  • Aids with conduit & wire installation.
  • Assist with device installation (i.e., fire alarm/security devices).
  • Assist with installation of fire alarm, voice/data, and security systems.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Comply with standards and procedures of industry and Sciens safety programs/policies.
