Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions seeks a Fire Alarm/Low Voltage Helper to support routine installations and checkouts on fire alarm, voice/data, and security systems. You will use codes, procedures, drawings, and teamwork to deliver quality installations and ensure customer confidence in the result.

Ideal candidates are eager to learn, physically capable of demanding work, and willing to travel or work overtime as needed in a fast-growing life-safety environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Interested in learning and growing in the fire-life safety industry.
• Good organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Ability to work overtime & out of town, if needed.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and with a sense of urgency.
• Ability to work independently with some supervision.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and able to obtain OSHA 10.
• Be physically fit to perform the demanding work of the trade, including frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds, maximum occasional lifting up to 50 pounds; able to work from heights and climb ladders; standing and walking for most of the workday.
• Ability to travel occasionally overnight, as needed.
• Ability to learn and safely use standard trade tools.

THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELL

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking a Fire Alarm/Low Voltage Helper to join our growing team of professionals. The helper will assist with routine installation and checkout on a variety of systems utilizing codes, company procedures, engineering drawings, and personnel analysis. Develops a positive interface with the customer to ensure confidence and satisfaction with the system installation.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (and doing well!)

• Utilizes electrical tools and meters.
