Job summary

HCI Systems is seeking skilled Fire Alarm/Low-Voltage Designers to join our team in San Diego. You will design and generate fire and low voltage shop drawings, prepare submittals, RFIs and closeout documents, and collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate, timely designs.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, coordinating with trades, performing take-offs, and maintaining engineering libraries.

Qualifications

• Strong AutoCAD background and familiarity with fire life safety drawing standards.
• Knowledge of CBC/CFC/NEC/NFPA 72 and related codes for fire alarm systems.
• NICET or RCDD or similar certification is desirable.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam.
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and draft fire life safety and low voltage shop drawings for various buildings.
• Prepare submittals, RFIs, and closeout documents in a timely, professional manner.
• Coordinate designs with project teams and other trades.
• Maintain libraries and organize templates, manuals, and data sheets.
• Perform take-offs on plans and manage document control.
• Read blueprints and interpret specifications to resolve design issues.
