Job summary

HCI Systems Inc. is seeking skilled Fire Alarm/Low Voltage/Security Designers to design shop drawings for Fire alarms, access control, CCTV, and related systems. You will prepare submittals, RFIs, and closeout docs while coordinating with project teams to ensure compliant, code‑driven designs.

The ideal candidate has AutoCAD expertise, experience with low voltage systems, and strong communication skills. This on-site role offers a competitive pay range and robust benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience designing low voltage and security systems, including access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection.
• Strong computer skills with AutoCAD as a requirement.
• RCDD or similar certification is desired.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam.
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and draft low voltage and security system shop drawings, including Fire alarm and life safety systems, Access control, CCTV/VMS, and intrusion detection.
• Prepare and manage technical submittals, RFIs, and closeout documents.
• Coordinate designs with other trades, AHJs, and building owners to ensure complete and compliant system designs.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and product manuals.
• Perform take-offs on plans for devices, cabling, and equipment.
