Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety in Ocala, FL is seeking an experienced fire alarm inspector to join our team. You will perform inspections and testing per NFPA standards, document results, and troubleshoot issues on site.

This full-time role requires at least 5 years in fire and life safety, NICET Level I or above preferred, and the ability to work independently with limited supervision. Travel to job sites and adherence to safety policies are essential, with weekly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as a fire alarm inspector.
  • Must be able to repair what you inspect.
  • Must have a FASA/BASA or above.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently perform inspections and testing.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 72 and applicable codes.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • NICET Level I or above preferred.
  • Independently capable in core technical functions.
  • Able to complete standard jobs without direct supervision.

Responsibilities

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and climbing ladders.
  • Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
  • Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.
  • Use of hand tools and testing equipment under supervision.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
