Job summary

Johnson Controls in Orlando, FL is seeking a Fire Detection Inspector to perform routine inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance on fire alarm systems for our customers. The role requires physical work, strong documentation practices, and strict adherence to safety policies.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of installation or service experience with fire alarm equipment, a valid driver's license, and the ability to obtain NICET I within 1 year.

Qualifications

• 1 year of Installation or Service experience in testing and inspecting fire alarm equipment.
• Self-starter capable of working with little supervision.
• Strong organizational skills, positive attitude and quick learning.
• Capable of performing physical labor.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Obtain NICET I within 1 year of employment.
• Basic computer skills: Excel, Word, Outlook; smartphone use.

Responsibilities

• Test and inspect fire alarm systems with existing and new customers.
• Maintain proper documentation for work performed using provided tools.
• Follow safety policies and procedures; adhere to instructions.
• Carry/move equipment and tools up to 70 lbs.
• Work in sometimes difficult positions (ladders, scaffolding, high lifts).
• Occasional shifts or weekends to meet customer needs.
• Perform duties safely and keep work area clean and organized.
