Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC is seeking a Building Fire Alarm Inspector to perform inspections, test devices, and document results for commercial buildings in New York. The role requires accurate data collection and reporting, with the ability to assist the Lead Inspector and Inspection Manager as needed.

You will download inspection data to generate Fire Alarm Inspection Reports, participate in monthly team meetings, and adhere to NFPA standards and company safety policies.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred; however, a High School diploma or equivalent with acceptable experience.
• Study and learn NFPA standards for inspection and testing of fire protection systems.
• Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills and be customer service oriented.
• Fire Alarm experience is preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in using test equipment including sensitivity test equipment, multi-meters, battery analyzers, sound level meters, and communicating devices.
• Good networking PC skills including use of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and use of Palm unit operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform building fire alarm inspections including testing devices and recording results.
• Download inspection data and generate Fire Alarm Inspection Reports.
• Assist Lead Inspector/Inspection Manager in collecting data and paperwork.
• Participate in monthly team meetings.
• Adhere to the Code of Conduct and Company Safety Policy.
• Other duties as assigned.
