Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety in Woodbury, NJ, is seeking a Building Fire Alarm Inspector. The role involves testing building fire alarm panels, recording results, and generating Fire Alarm Inspection Reports, Quick Reports, and Inspection Certificates.

You will support the Lead Inspector and Inspection Manager with data collection and paperwork. Ideal candidates have strong communication, teamwork, and PC skills; NFPA knowledge and NICET certification are preferred, but experience is valued.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred; HS diploma acceptable with experience.
• NFPA standards knowledge; NICET certification preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication; customer service oriented.
• Team player willing to work in a collaborative environment.
• Fire alarm experience preferred but not required.
• Proficient with test equipment and PC software (Outlook/Word/Excel).
• Punctual and able to perform tests before tenant arrivals.

Responsibilities

• Test building fire alarm panels, devices, and functions and record results.
• Generate Fire Alarm Inspection Reports, Quick Reports, and Certificates.
• Ensure inspections are completed on time and accurately.
• Assist Lead Inspector/Inspection Manager with data collection and paperwork.
• Participate in monthly team meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
