Job summary

Dean-Fluor is seeking an on-site technician to perform testing and inspection of fire alarm systems in compliance with NFPA and local codes. You will functionally test devices, read blueprints, and communicate deficiencies and repair recommendations to customers.

This role may require overtime for emergencies and project milestones. Requirements include a High School diploma or GED with 4+ years of experience, ability to lift 100 pounds, and the capacity to obtain security clearance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with at least 4 years of field experience.
• Lift at least 100 pounds.
• Work at heights up to 60 feet.
• Must be able to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and inspection of fire alarm systems per NFPA and local code standards, noting deficiencies.
• Functionally test Initiating Devices, Notification Appliances, and peripherals.
• Communicate system performance and deficiencies to customers for accurate quoting of repairs.
• Perform under supervision pre-testing and final inspections for assigned projects.
• Determine materials needed for repairs and order them.
• Complete projects within estimate and specifications.
• Diagnose system malfunctions and adjust/repair equipment to achieve compliance.
• Read blueprints and drawings.
