Wilson is seeking a Fire Alarm Engineer/Inspector to support fire alarm design, code compliance reviews, field inspections, punch list development, client coordination, and FDNY inspection support for high-end projects across the New York City metro area.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of fire code compliance and field inspections.
• Ability to review drawings and communicate technical concerns clearly.
• Comfort working on active construction sites across the NYC metro area.
• Excellent organizational and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Review fire alarm system designs and documentation for compliance with applicable building and fire code requirements.
• Conduct field inspections and pre-inspections on active construction sites throughout the NYC metro area.
• Identify deficiencies, document findings, and develop clear punch lists for project stakeholders.
• Support coordination with clients, contractors, project managers, site managers, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction, including FDNY-related inspections.
• Use technical knowledge of the 2022 NYC Building Code to evaluate project conditions and support code-compliant outcomes.
• Communicate inspection results, project needs, and recommended next steps in a professional and timely manner.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams while managing independent field and office responsibilities.
• Approximately 60% field-based and 40% office-based.
• Regular travel to project sites across the New York City metro area.
