Job summary

Allied Fire Protection in Austin, TX is seeking a Fire Alarm Designer with 2–3 years in alarm design and AutoCAD expertise to join our team. You will coordinate on-site surveys, develop alarm drawings, and drive projects from concept through review with AHJs.

Ideal candidates have strong code knowledge (IFC, NFPA, IBC, NEC), good communication, and meticulous records management. The role is office-based with occasional site visits and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 2–3 years in Fire Alarm design and AutoCAD experience.
• APS State of TX or NICET III preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate onsite surveys with operations team.
• Prepare fire alarm drawings using AutoCAD from surveys and prints.
• Calculate, design and coordinate a project from beginning to end.
• Submit drawings and track reviews with AHJs.
• Coordinate technical documents with other disciplines/contractors.
• Modify or create processes to ensure production and document control.
• Assist superintendents and field personnel on system and code applications.
• Assist sales with system configuration, take-offs, spec review and code applications for estimating projects.
• Maintain project drawing files and records.
• Participate in design turnover and bid review meetings.
