Job summary

A leading safety solutions provider in Pearland is seeking an Alarm Designer to conduct on-site surveys, create alarm system drawings using AutoCAD, and coordinate technical documents. The ideal candidate has 2-3 years of experience in fire alarm system design, strong knowledge of industry codes, and excellent communication skills. Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Fire Alarm system design and Auto CAD.
• Construction experience is a plus.
• APS State of TX preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform on site surveys.
• Prepare fire alarm drawings using AutoCAD based on site visits and architectural prints.
• Calculate, design and coordinate a project from beginning to end.
• Coordinate technical documents with other disciplines/contractors.
• Modify and/or create processes to ensure consistent production and document control.
• Assist sales department with system configuration and specification review for estimating.
• Assist sales department with system configuration, specification review and code applications for estimating projects.
• Maintain project drawing files and records.

Skills

Strong knowledge of industry codes such as IFC, NFPA, IBC, and NEC

Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical and mechanical drawings

Strong customer service skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records

Ability to work in a fast-paced service/construction team environment

Ability to travel as needed
