Job summary

A fire protection services company in San Antonio is seeking a skilled technician to design fire alarm systems. Responsibilities include preparing AutoCAD drawings and coordinating project activities. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform on site surveys.
  • Prepare fire alarm drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Calculate, design and coordinate a project from beginning to end.
  • Coordinate technical documents with other disciplines/contractors.
  • Modify and/or create processes to ensure consistent production and document control.
  • Assist superintendents and field personnel on system and code applications.
  • Assist sales department with system configuration and estimating projects.
  • Maintain project drawing files and records.

Skills

Strong knowledge of industry codes such as IFC, NFPA, IBC, and NEC
Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical and mechanical drawings
Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records
Ability to work in a fast-paced service/construction team environment
Strong customer service skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to travel as needed

  • Calculate, design and coordinate a project from beginning to end
  • Coordinate technical documents with other disciplines/contractors
  • Modify and/or create processes to ensure consistent production and document control
  • Assist superintendents and field personnel on system and code applications
  • Assist sales department with system configuration, specification review and code applications for estimating projects
  • Maintain project drawing files and records
Knowledge
  • High School diploma or GED is required
  • Construction experience is a plus
Work Experience
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Fire Alarm system design and Auto CAD
  • APS State of TX preferred
