Oliver Fire Protection & Security in King of Prussia, PA seeks an experienced Fire Alarm Systems Designer to create AutoCAD designs for fire alarm, mass notification, and security systems. This role emphasizes safety, quality, and timely project delivery.

You will coordinate with customers, the Design Manager, sales, and project managers; perform battery and voltage drop calculations; and prepare submittals and permit drawings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-5 years of experience as a fire alarm designer.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and reading blueprints/schematics.
• MS Office experience and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design fire alarm, mass notification, and security alarm systems in AutoCAD for shop and record drawings.
• Communicate with customers, the Design Manager, sales team, and project managers for updates.
• Perform battery and voltage drop calculations for fire alarm systems.
• Prepare submittal packages, drawings, calculations, and datasheets for permitting.
• Review plans/specifications for technical accuracy and best practices.
• Participate in design meetings and assist junior designers when needed.
• Maintain knowledge of materials, design techniques, and applicable code requirements.
• Prepare and submit O&M packages, RFIs, permit drawings, and transmittal forms.
• Conduct site surveys to gather project information.
