Job summary

Giga Energy is seeking a Fire Alarm Engineer to provide technical leadership across data center projects. You will design and specify fire alarm, detection, and life-safety systems, ensuring code compliance and high-quality documentation.

You’ll mentor junior staff and collaborate with clients, AHJs, and field teams from our hubs or remotely. The role requires experience with NFPA codes, Revit/AutoCAD, and a strong background in data center environments.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience designing fire alarm systems.
NICET Fire Alarm Systems (FAS) Level III or IV certification.
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
Experience working on Data Center projects.
Extensive knowledge of NFPA codes and FM Global guidelines.
Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for construction documents.

Responsibilities

Provide technical design leadership for fire alarm and life safety systems on data center projects.
Design fire alarm/detection systems using manufacturer equipment and best practices.
Develop operation sequences, equipment schedules, and riser diagrams.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure code compliance and design intent.
Interface with clients, AHJs, and contractors to obtain approvals and resolve issues.
Support field activities including site observations and testing.
