Job summary

Johnson Controls in Roswell, GA seeks a Fire Alarm Designer with deep expertise in fire and security systems to design compliant, buildable solutions for major projects. You will lead design efforts on large programs, coordinate with CAD staff, and contribute to near-term construction handoff while ensuring code compliance and accuracy.

The role requires NICET III or equivalent, 5+ years of experience, and strong skills in CAD, MS Office, and reading diagrams.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in design of Fire and Security systems.
• NICET Certification Level III, or Level II with Level III attainability.
• Experience with NFPA 72 and fire alarm system design.
• Experience in Fire Alarm, Security, Nurse Call, CCTV and/or Construction Industry.
• Drafting/CAD, pricing/estimating, and project management skills.
• Reading architectural/electrical diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Design fire alarm systems for Johnson Controls projects.
• Lead design on large, complex projects and guide the design team.
• Coordinate with CAD staff to prepare detailed submissions.
• Develop BOMs and ensure code compliance and accuracy.
• Support Project Managers to maintain margins and schedules.
