Fortis Fire & Safety Inc. is seeking a motivated Fire Alarm Construction Apprentice to join our Fire Alarm Construction team. This role supports the installation, assembly, and commissioning of fire alarm and life-safety systems under the guidance of experienced technicians.

The Apprentice will receive hands-on training, learn NFPA standards, read blueprints, and develop safe work practices. This position offers a clear path to certification and a long-term career in fire protection.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 2+ years of experience in low-voltage systems, electrical work, construction, or related trade.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Willingness to learn fire alarm installation practices and NFPA codes.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Team-oriented with good communication skills.
• Basic computer or tablet usage for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist installation and commissioning of fire alarm and life-safety systems.
• Support device installation, wiring, and system startup activities.
• Read blueprints and wiring diagrams; help with testing and verification.
• Maintain jobsite safety and organization; document activities in company systems.
• Communicate professionally with supervisors, customers, and inspectors.
• Learn NFPA 72 and local codes under guidance.
