Job summary

Firetrol Protection Systems, Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking a Fire Alarm Designer / CAD Drafter to join our team of fire protection professionals. You will design and layout Fire Alarm systems and Access Control in AutoCAD per code, build equipment submittals, and communicate technical concepts to sales reps and customers.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of Fire Alarm layout experience, AutoCAD 2019+, and familiarity with NFPA 72/101. Notifier experience and Texas licenses are a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience with NFPA 72 & 101 fire alarm layout requirements.
• Proficient in AutoCAD 2019 or newer.
• Notifier alarm system experience preferred but not required.
• Licensed Texas APS preferred but not required.
• Experience with Fire Suppression systems is a plus.
• Licensed Texas EPL preferred but not required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Design and layout of Fire Alarm systems in AutoCAD per code requirements.
• Layout of Access Control systems in AutoCAD per code requirements.
• Build equipment submittals.
• Communicate technical concepts to sales reps, operations team, and customers.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.
