Job summary

Firetrol Protection Systems, Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking a Fire Alarm Designer / CAD Drafter to design and route fire alarm systems in AutoCAD per NFPA codes. The role collaborates with sales, operations, and customers to translate requirements into precise drawings.

Candidates should have 2–5 years of fire alarm layout experience, AutoCAD proficiency, and knowledge of NFPA 72/101. Notifier and EPL licenses are a plus. We offer strong benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years' experience with fire alarm systems layout per NFPA 72 & 101.
• Proficient in AutoCAD 2019 or newer.
• Experience with fire alarm systems; Notifier experience preferred but not required.
• Licensed Texas APS preferred but not required.
• Licensed Texas EPL preferred but not required.
• Experience with Fire Suppression systems a plus.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of applicable codes.
• Ability to engage with local AHJs.

Responsibilities

• Communicate technical concepts to sales reps, operations, and customers.
• Design and layout of Fire Alarm systems in AutoCAD per code requirements.
• Layout of Access Control systems in AutoCAD per code requirements.
• Build equipment submittals.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.
