Job summary

Vestmark seeks a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to review requirements, build automated test cases, and support maintenance of test assets for releases to our client base.

Responsibilities include expanding automated testing, exploring AI-assisted testing strategies, and shaping QA best practices within an Agile team, while contributing to CI/CD pipelines and test automation coverage.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Software Quality Assurance experience, ideally in Financial Technology.
• Experience with Agile SDLC tools such as Jira, Bitbucket, and Jenkins.
• Foundational understanding of Git and GitHub, including PRs and code review workflows.
• Experience with GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipeline automation.
• Coded UI Automation with Selenium WebDriver; Python and Pytest required.
• Scripting language knowledge; Groovy and Ruby on Rails a plus.
• Experience with web service and API testing (Postman or equivalent).
• Performance testing experience (JMeter or Locust.io).
• SQL experience (MSSQL, Postgres).
• Containerized environments and deployment tooling (Docker, Gradle).
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development and testing tools (e.g., Claude Code, AI-driven QA tooling).
• Ability to operate on a small team in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
• Positive attitude with a strong desire to learn and impact the company and products.

Responsibilities

• Review requirements, user stories and test assets; build automated test cases.
• Contribute to test pipelines; maintain test assets for releases.
• Expand automated testing capabilities and coverage.
• Explore AI-assisted testing strategies to improve QE workflows.
• Evaluate AI/ML tooling to improve velocity and quality Coverage.
• Instill QA best practices on the scrum team and collaborate on test coverage.
• Write tests from abstract requirements.
• Provide feedback on product performance and user experience.
• Participate in all aspects of the Agile SDLC; grooming, retrospectives, planning.
• Configure and verify CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins and SonarQube.
• Review product documentation and release notes.
